Two hours and $36 a head, drinks not included. Not to be confused with the Boston pub crawl of the same name — that one is also US Ghost Adventures, while Boston's Ghost City Tours crawl is a different company entirely. Salem's version stops at licensed premises, so bring ID.

Salem's Witch Trial History Tour

History-led rather than ghost-led, from a small Salem operator that keeps prices off its own site — $31 on its booking calendar, $22 for children. Worth a look if you want the trials told straight and the hauntings kept to the side.

Hawthorne Hotel
The hotel opened in 1925 — 233 years after the trials, so whatever it is, it isn't 1692. Its genuine history is maritime: it stands on land tied to the Salem Marine Society, whose 1830s cabin was reconstructed on the roof as a condition of the sale.
