Sherman Farm in East Conway (weekends, September 19 to October 25) and Coppal House Farm in Lee (September 12 to October 31, Thursday to Monday) have both published full calendars but do not open until September. Moulton Farm has an opening date and a price but still no closing date.

Are corn mazes scary?

Daytime corn mazes are not scary at all — they are a farm activity. The scary versions are separate after-dark events. Collins Farm runs both a Flashlight Maze and a Haunted Flashlight Maze in October, which are a different proposition from the daytime maze entirely.

Corn Mazes in New Hampshire 2026: One Is Already Open

New Hampshire's corn mazes checked at source. Three have published full 2026 seasons with prices, one is open right now, and one has an opening date but no closing date.

Corn mazes are the sensible end of New England's Halloween season. Ten to eighteen dollars instead of forty-plus, daylight instead of darkness, nobody chasing you with a chainsaw, and a farm stand at the end of it.

They're also the part of the season most likely to be listed with last year's dates, because the farms running them are small operations with better things to do in July than update a website.

Collins Farm, Bath — open now

Collins Farm has published a season running July 31 to October 31, 2026, in plain text on its own site, and it's already underway. Sherman Farm has since published a full calendar too, but doesn't open until September — so Collins is still the only New Hampshire maze you can walk into today.

Thirteen acres, three difficulty levels, hidden checkpoints and trivia along the route, 60–90 minutes for the average completion. Flat, level trails. Open to all ages. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome, which is rarer than it should be. Concessions on site, including fried dough, because it is a New Hampshire farm in autumn.

The three difficulty levels are the useful detail with children — you are not committing the whole family to ninety minutes.

After dark it changes. Collins runs a Flashlight Maze and a separate Haunted Flashlight Maze in October. Same corn, entirely different event. If you're bringing small children, go in daylight and go home before the flashlights come out.

The Maize at Sherman Farm, East Conway — 2026 dates and prices, published

A White Mountains institution with a new theme every year, repeatedly voted the state's best maze.

Weekends from September 19 through October 25, 11am to 5pm, with Columbus Day Monday added to the October 10 weekend. $15 per person on the September weekends and the last two October weekends, $18 over the peak weekends of October 3-4 and 10-12. Age 2 and under free.

Worth saying how we know that is this year's calendar rather than last year's left up, because that is the trap this whole page exists to avoid: the dates land on Saturdays and Sundays in 2026. The same numbers were Fridays and Saturdays in 2025. A recycled schedule cannot land that way, and the farm's own table is headed "Pricing for 2026".

Until August 17 this section read "returning but undated", because the site was showing its 2025 schedule with the year printed on it. That is the difference a recheck makes.

Coppal House Farm, Lee — the full season, finally

A horse-powered working farm in the Seacoast that runs a themed maze alongside its sunflower festival.

September 12 to October 31, Thursday through Monday — closed every Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am to 6pm. That is 36 operating days, and all of them fall on the weekdays the farm claims. $8–10 for the day maze, all ages.

There are also three Public Night Mazes — Saturdays September 26, October 10 and October 24, about 90 minutes, $12–15. A day ticket is not valid for them. Usefully, a day ticket you don't use on its date is honoured on any other open day, which is rare and worth knowing if the weather turns.

We held this back for weeks. The farm's homepage announced an opening date and nothing else, and its booking portal was carrying events with 2025 dates, so we would not quote a price off it. What settled it was the maze's own listing being titled "Chipmunk & Acorn Corn Maze" — matching the 2026 theme the homepage announces — with availability that starts on September 12 and stops dead after October 31.

Moulton Farm, Meredith — opens September 19, $12

Lakes Region farm with a maze, a pick-your-own pumpkin patch and a serious farm market. In the farm's own words, "our 2026 corn maze opens Sept. 19" — a Saturday this year, with the year printed on it.

The price arrived on the September 2 recheck: $12 per person, $6 for children aged 3 to 6, under 3 free. Open 8am to 6pm, last admission an hour before the farm closes.

The closing date did not arrive with it, which is the usual order for a farm — they know what they will charge long before they know when the corn gives out. So it still has no dates in the table above: an opening on its own is not a season.

Why corn mazes are the value play

Worth saying plainly, because the rest of this site is about attractions that charge three times as much.

A New Hampshire corn maze runs roughly $10–$18 a head. Fright Kingdom is $41 online and $45 cash at the door. For a family of four that's the difference between about sixty dollars and about a hundred and eighty — and the maze includes an afternoon on a farm, a pumpkin patch and usually cider doughnuts.

Corn mazes also solve the problem the big haunts create: age. Fright Kingdom and Spooky World are not for eight-year-olds. A daytime corn maze is for everybody, and the only genuinely family-set-up confirmed Halloween event we've found in New Hampshire so far is Ghosts on the Banke in Portsmouth, on four evenings in October.

Practical notes

Go in the morning if it rained. Corn maze trails are dirt between rows. Collins Farm advertises flat, level trails, which helps, but wet corn is wet corn.

Check the difficulty before you commit. Sixty to ninety minutes is a long time to be lost with a five-year-old who needs the toilet.

The scary version is a different ticket. Flashlight and haunted mazes are separate events at separate times. Don't turn up at 7pm in October expecting the daytime experience.
