Field of Screams, West Greenwich: The Haunt Whose Website Became a Plant Nursery
Rhode Island's haunted hayride has no working haunt website — its old address now sells Christmas trees and shrubs for the host farm.

Rhode Island has three haunted attractions of any size. This is the one with the strangest problem.
Field of Screams' website is now a plant nursery.
What we found
Field of Screams runs a haunted hayride and walk-through attractions at Big John Leyden's Tree Farm, 179 Plain Meeting House Road, West Greenwich.
Its former web address — hauntedhayride.net — now serves the tree farm's nursery storefront. Shop hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Christmas trees, shrubs, and an invitation to let them earn your business. No Halloween content whatsoever.
The farm is clearly trading and doing well. The haunt's web presence has simply been replaced by the farm's retail site.
What that does and doesn't mean
It is not evidence the hayride has stopped. Plenty of small seasonal operators now run their entire season on social media and let a website lapse or repurpose it. That is a reasonable business decision and says nothing about whether the wagons will roll in October.
It does mean there is no official source confirming it runs, so we have not said it does, and this page carries no dates, no prices and no calendar markup.
It also means every listing still pointing readers at hauntedhayride.net for Halloween information is sending them to a garden centre.
The pattern this belongs to
This is the fifth dead or repurposed domain we have hit across this project, alongside barrettshauntedmansion.com, friendsoffortknox.org, and the two Kennebunkport inns on our coastal Maine page — all with no DNS record at all, all still being linked from roundups.
The businesses in three of those cases are alive and well at different addresses. The listings outlive the businesses they point at, and nobody notices because nobody clicks their own links.
One clarification
There is a Field of Screams in Pennsylvania — a large, well-known, entirely separate operation. Search results mix the two constantly. If you find yourself reading about a massive multi-attraction park with extensive published dates, you are reading about Pennsylvania, not West Greenwich.
What to do
Call the farm, or check their social channels. That is where a small operator announces.
One Rhode Island haunt is now confirmed, and it isn't this one. Scary Acres in Hope published a full 26-night season on September 2 — September 18 to November 7, with prices. Fortress of Nightmares at Fort Adams still shows no upcoming dates on its own ticketing platform.
If you want a booking tonight rather than a phone call, Scary Acres is twenty minutes up the road from Leyden's. Further afield, Fright Kingdom in Nashua is about ninety minutes from Providence. And Newport's ghost walks run nightly regardless of the haunt season.
