Haunted Houses in Rhode Island 2026: Nothing Is Confirmed, and Here's Why
All three Rhode Island haunted attractions checked at source — one has no dates on sale, one's website is now a plant nursery, and one is still showing last year.

Rhode Island is the smallest state in the country and it has the shortest haunted-attraction list to match. Three venues carry the whole season.
As of July 31, 2026, not one of them has a confirmed date — and two of them have problems more interesting than "hasn't announced yet."

Fortress of Nightmares, Newport — no dates on sale
Staged inside the tunnels and casemates of Fort Adams, which is the best venue any haunt in New England has to work with. Granite, darkness, and a genuine nineteenth-century fortress; nobody has to build a set.
Its ticketing page currently reads: "No upcoming date/times for this event."
That's the authoritative source — it's where you'd buy — and it has nothing for 2026. The last published structure was $15 general admission covering Mayhem3D, Tunnels of Terror and Rising Spirits, or $22 with Paranormal360, arrivals between 7 and 10pm, about an hour inside.
Historically it ran the last two weekends of October. Whether it runs at all this year is unresolved. 401-841-0707.
Field of Screams, West Greenwich — the website is now a plant nursery
This one is genuinely odd.
Field of Screams is a haunted hayride and walk-through operation at Big John Leyden's Tree Farm, 179 Plain Meeting House Rd. Its website — hauntedhayride.net — now serves the tree farm's nursery storefront. Shop hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. Christmas trees and shrubs. No Halloween content whatsoever.
The farm is very much still trading. The haunt's web presence has simply been replaced by the farm's retail site. That isn't proof the hayride has stopped — plenty of small operators run their season entirely on Facebook now — but there is no official source confirming it runs in 2026, and we won't invent one.
Scary Acres, West Greenwich — showing last year
Three attractions on a trail, and the loudest reputation in the state. When we checked, the site was still advertising the 2025 season, complete with "NEW FOR 2025" copy and 2025 ticket prices: $30 combo Sunday/Monday/Thursday, $35 Friday/Saturday, $50 VIP, $99.99 season pass, $149.99 VIP season pass, gates at 7pm.
Those numbers are a reasonable guide to what 2026 will cost. They are not 2026 prices, and we haven't listed them as such.
What you can actually do in Rhode Island this October
The haunts are unconfirmed. The rest of Rhode Island's Halloween offering isn't.

The Jailhouse Inn takes bookings now. A literal 1772 jail, four minutes' walk from that meeting point, and the best-documented building on our haunted stays list.
For a confirmed haunted house, leave the state. Fright Kingdom in Nashua has published its entire 2026 calendar and opens September 25 — about ninety minutes from Providence, and still the only major New England haunt you can plan to a specific night.
