Best Haunted Houses in Connecticut 2026: What's Confirmed and What Isn't
Connecticut's major haunted attractions checked against their own sites — one confirmed returning, one running off-season events, and the biggest one that won't let anybody verify it.

Connecticut's haunt scene is small, good, and — as of July 31, 2026 — almost entirely undated.
We checked the state's three biggest attractions against their own websites. One is confirmed returning. One is open and running an off-season event. And the largest of them wouldn't let us read its page at all.

Trail of Terror, Wallingford — confirmed, undated
The outdoor haunted trail run by Scare Crew Productions, and the one most Connecticut locals name first. It's a charity operation, which is part of why it has the reputation it does — the money goes somewhere.
Their site is already branded Trail of Terror 2026, with the season listed as Coming Soon. That's a confirmation that it's happening and an admission that the dates aren't set. Both useful; neither bookable yet.
Fright Haven, Stratford — the one that's actually open
Fright Haven is unusual in New England: it runs year-round, not just in October. The only dates currently published are an off-season event — April 3–4, 2026, 7:00pm–9:00pm — an Easter-themed night they describe with rather more enthusiasm about rabbits than is strictly comfortable.
Pricing on the site runs $24.99–$29.99 general admission, with Fast Pass at +$15 and Front of the Line at +$35. Halloween 2026 pricing isn't separately published, so confirm for your date.
If you want a Connecticut haunt outside October, this is the only one on this page that reliably has something running.
Phantom Fall Fest at Lake Compounce — confirmed, and renamed
Connecticut's biggest Halloween event, inside the Lake Compounce amusement park in Bristol, and the first attraction in this state with a full 2026 calendar we could confirm at source.
Weekends, September 19 to November 1, 2026.
The catch is the name. This ran for years as the Haunted Graveyard, and the park has rebranded it Phantom Fall Fest — the old page now 404s. Roundups still quoting Haunted Graveyard dates are pointing at a URL that no longer exists, which is a good reminder that a dead link and a stale fact usually arrive together. No 2026 admission price is published on the event page, so we are not printing one.
Where to stay
Connecticut's contribution to the haunted lodging list is Captain Grant's, 1754 in Preston — the only property in our entire New England roundup that calls itself haunted on its own front page, and sells a Halloween event with a ghost tour, storytelling, and seances to prove it. Every other inn on that list stays silent about its ghost.
Take that as you like: it's either the most honest place in New England or the one with the clearest commercial incentive.
What to do now
Nothing in Connecticut is bookable for Halloween today. That's not a gap in our research; it's late July.
